花とクリスマスと女性、というお題をいただいてさてどうやってそれをひとつの絵にしようかなと考えた。クリスマスに近づくにつれ色を帯び、人々の期待と高揚感を映し出すかのように街は輝き始める。それを眺めるのは嫌いじゃないけど、私がクリスマスを思うとき頭に浮かぶのはまだサンタクロースの存在をかたく信じていた頃の、静かで淡い幼い記憶だ。枕元のプレゼントが気になってとんでもなく早起きした静かな朝のことや、サンタクロース宛に書いた手紙を暖炉に置いた緊張感や、終わりゆくクリスマスという楽しみが過ぎ去る寂しさを思い出す。私にとってクリスマスはまだ幼きあの頃にあって、非常にパーソナルな情景の中の一つであり続けている。だから今回のビジュアルの私の裏テーマは"みんなのクリスマス"ではなく"自分の中のクリスマス"にしようと思った。誰の中にもある淡くしんとした気持ちを描こうと。記憶とは不思議なもので、時が経ってもなお心を支配するほど強く時に狂暴なほどエネルギーを持つのに対しその輪郭は極めて柔らかくあやふやで形を成さない。手が届きそうで届かない、そんな空気の裏側みたいな、無意識に湧く感情みたいな、形はないのに確かにそこにあるものが写せたらいいなと。撮影の日、白色塗料でさらに白く化粧されたカスミソウを帯状にしドレープを寄せ越智くんがその場でドレスを組み上げていく。広く大きな漆黒の背景の前に座った彼女の、肌と髪と花の隙間を工藤くんが軽やかにそして丁寧にシャッターを切りおさめてくれた写真たちはクリスマスのあの切なさも、あたたかな煌めきそのどちらともが映し出されていて、ああ、この写真が街を彩る時この花のドレスがまた誰かのクリスマスの記憶の一部になれたらいいな、と思った。記憶はこうして無言のまま人から人へ伝わっていくのだろうか。今年のクリスマスも人々が楽しく平和に過ごせるように祈りを込めて

eri (DEPT)
He started “CHICO” from his student days, starting “mother” in 2004 and “VTOPIA” in 2012. In 15 years, he restarted the vintage shop “DEPT”, which his father opened and paused. He is also the director of tableware brand “TOWACERAMICS”, Taiwan sweets cafe “Myoten Yoshiyoshi” and general store “DONADONA TOKYO”.

I want to make a flower dress

“I wanted to make a flower dress for the Christmas visual” —I was told that the shadow of autumn was still thin and the strong sunlight continued. Wow! I was so happy that I answered “Please!” Without replying to the schedule. Then, “So, I would like to ask eri from DEPT to produce it.” —I think that this is already 100 people (maybe 1 million horsepower), and I will work with the intention of riding a large ship. (Eri has a deep interaction with both public and private, and has an overwhelming trust in the attitude toward manufacturing and its quality). Spirit! A short meeting after a few days. Maybe the background is like this ... or if the flower looks like this ... or if this photo was taken by this person (I asked Kudo Tsukasa from kudos) ... I talked about that. There are few decisions at this point, and it is still abstract. However, the schedule from the meeting to the shooting is fairly close, and I rushed to share reference materials with eri, arrange the materials used for shooting, make samples with flowers to become parts of the dress In the meantime, the shooting day has come in no time. Although I was a little worried about what Vivid could create, what I imagined was taking a Titanic (a lie) and started shooting with tension. Then, strangely, each moves without hesitation, goes on and off, and you can shoot at a ridiculous speed. That was more than I had imagined-vividness when eri-san's concrete vision and Kudo-kun's perspective were connected! --Small gypsophila flowers sway like snow in front of you. And I was satisfied with the premonition of Christmas that shimmered on my chest. I hope people who have seen it receive such a premonition.
